Botman has agreed on personal terms with AC Milan and would prefer to move to the Serie A giants this summer.

But AC Milan have been slow to move in the pursuit of the Dutchman and are yet to agree on a fee with the French club for the defender’s transfer.

Newcastle have been pushing to land Botman as well after failing in January and believe that they have an advantage in the race to sign him.

But no agreement is in place and it has been claimed that Newcastle are now becoming impatient with Lille.

The Magpies are under the impression that the asking price they have been quoted is higher than what AC Milan were informed about.

Newcastle are not interested in paying more than is required and want Lille to make a decision soon.

The Magpies are prepared to walk away and look at other targets if the French club do not accept their £30m bid.

Botman has not pushed for a move to Newcastle yet and would still prefer to join AC Milan this summer.
