Caprile spent the recently concluded season on loan at Pro Patria in Serie C Group A (North), as the Lombardy-based club made it as far as the second round of the promotional playoffs.

The former Italian Under-18 international kept 13 clean sheets in all competitions for Pro Patria from 39 appearances, conceding a total of 46 goals.

Caprile is expected to join Bari after all parties concerned reached an agreement, for a small transfer fee as his Leeds contract expires in the summer of 2024.

The Italian established himself as Pro Patria’s undisputed number one last season, but would have been the Whites’ third choice in goal behind Illan Meslier and Kristoffer Klaesson had he opted to stay at Elland Road.

Klaesson himself got only 35 minutes in the Premier League in the 3-2 win at Molineux against Wolverhampton Wanderers after replacing the injured Meslier.

Bari managed to secure promotion to Serie B after topping the table in Serie C Group C (South) last season and will return to the second tier of Italian football for the first time since going bankrupt in 2018.

Caprile will sign a three-year contract and compete with veteran Pierluigi Frattali for the number one spot at Stadio San Nicola next season.
