The Seagulls are potentially facing the prospect of losing Marc Cucurella to Premier League champions Manchester City.

Brighton rejected a first £30m bid from Manchester City and have made it clear that they will have to meet their £50m valuation of the Spaniard.

They do not want to lose Cucurella and have no need to sell him but the club are canvassing alternatives if the Spaniard leaves this summer.

Tavares has been touted as a potential replacement for Cucurella but Brighton have dismissed the claims.

The Premier League side have no interest in the 22-year-old Portuguese, who has struggled to establish himself at Arsenal.

The following arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Arsenal are open to letting Tavares go in the ongoing window.

However, he is unlikely to be at the Amex Stadium next season as Brighton are not keen to sign him.

They are looking at potential Cucurella replacements but Tavares is not being considered as an option.
