Cucurella is a priority target for Pep Guardiola, who wants to add a new left-back to his Manchester City squad this summer.

Manchester City have already failed with a bid of £30m, which is some way away from Brighton’s £50m valuation of the defender.

Cucurella is keen on a move to Manchester City and the club are believed to be counting on him to push for a move.

But it has been claimed Brighton are not worried about Cucurella creating problems behind the scenes.

The Spaniard has continued to train professionally behind the scenes and there has not been a change to his attitude.

Brighton are under no pressure to sell him and have no interest in lowering their financial demands for the left-back.

Manchester City have already threatened to walk away if Brighton stick to their asking price this summer.

However, that has had no effect on Brighton, who are more than happy to hold on to Cucurella this summer.
