The Blues are attempting to muscle past Manchester City and agree a deal to take Cucurella to Stamford Bridge.

Cucurella recently put in a transfer request at Brighton in an attempt to force through a move to Manchester City, but the Seagulls are clear they will not let him leave for less than they feel his value is.

The Seagulls value the Spaniard at a higher rate than the £50m they banked from Arsenal for Ben White and Manchester City do not want to pay that.

Chelsea are now trying to sign Cucurella, but they are looking at alternatives in the event they cannot do the deal.

And Wolves star Ait-Nouri is firmly on their radar as an alternative to the Spaniard.

Wolves signed Ait-Nouri from French side Angers and he has flourished at Molineux, catching Chelsea’s eye.

Just 21 years old, it remains to be seen how much Chelsea might have to pay to take Ait-Nouri to Stamford Bridge if they do go for him.
