Leeds have sold key performers in Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha this summer and have brought in players who are unproven in the Premier League.

Everton have lost Richarlison to Tottenham this summer and Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to miss the start of the season after sustaining an injury.

The Toffees are severely hampered in the transfer market due to financial fair play restrictions and are looking to bring in more bodies while trying to offload several from their squad.

Keys stressed that he is not hearing good things about both clubs behind the scenes, and Everton and Leeds are just do not look good enough with days left before the season.

Both were left to fight relegation towards the end of last season and the veteran broadcaster is not expecting anything different this time around as well.

Keys wrote on his personal blog: “I am not hearing good things about Leeds and Everton are not good enough

“Frank Lampard has got it all on. He’s already called it. He knows it’s going to be a long season.

“Everton simply aren’t good enough. I fear for them.

“Leeds are interesting.

“I quite liked Jesse Marsch when he arrived, but I’m not hearing good things.

“Like Everton – they’re another club where there’s too much going on behind the scenes for it to be healthy.

“Verdict? Another struggle.”

Everton will start the season with a home game against Chelsea on Saturday while Leeds will host Wolves on the same day.
