The Hammers have agreed on a deal worth €40m with Lille for the 20-year-old midfielder this summer.

But it has emerged that Everton have tabled a bid for him and the player would prefer to move to Goodison Park in the ongoing transfer window.

There are claims that West Ham are now having second thoughts about signing the midfielder despite agreeing on a fee with Lille.

But it has been suggested West Ham are still interested in taking Onana to the London Stadium this summer.

The midfielder has been on West Ham’s radar all summer and they have put in significant work to try and sign the player in the ongoing transfer window.

Everton are also pushing and West Ham are still to agree on personal terms on a contract with the player.

But the Hammers remain in the race and are hopeful of convincing Onana to move to London in the ongoing window.
