Collado, who can also play on the right wing, faces intense competition for regular first team football at the Camp Nou following the renewal of Ousmane Dembele and the signing of Raphinha this summer.

The Blaugrana are also well-stocked in midfield and as a result, the 23-year-old might look elsewhere to further his development.

Collado spent the second half of the 2021/22 season on loan at Granada after he was left unregistered as a Barcelona player following the last-minute collapse of a loan move, with Club Brugge and Sheffield United the interested parties.

The Spaniard is currently attracting interest from Celtic, Olympiacos in Greece and two as yet unnamed La Liga rivals, according to Spanish outlet Relevo, with the four sides having kicked off moves to land him.

A former Spain Under-19 midfielder, Collado is interested in participating in European competition, which Celtic can offer this season.

Failing that, the attacking midfielder might opt to stay in Spain, after he scored two goals and laid on a single assist from 17 games for relegated Granada last season.

Barcelona concluded their pre-season preparations with a 6-0 win over Pumas, with Collado staying on the bench, winning the Joan Gamper Trophy in the process, and will play host to Rayo Vallecano on Saturday to kick off their La Liga campaign.

Celtic, who currently top the Scottish Premiership table on goal difference, travel to Kilmarnock on Sunday.
