Manchester United have ended their pursuit of Bologna’s 33-year-old striker Marko Arnautovic amidst a fan backlash and the fact that the Italian club did not want to sell him.

However, Erik ten Hag still wants a physical striker as an option from the bench and Manchester United are looking at alternatives.

And it has been claimed that Morata has been presented as an option to Manchester United in the final three weeks of the transfer window.

The Spaniard spent the previous two seasons on loan at Juventus and has two years left on his Atletico Madrid contract.

The Spanish giants are prepared to move him on if they get a suitable offer as they are trying to trim their wage bill.

Morata has experience of playing in England with Chelsea but his record at Stamford Bridge was underwhelming.

He has been offered to Manchester United but it is unclear whether the Red Devils are interested.

The Red Devils are looking to bring in two to three players before the transfer window slams shut on 1st September.
