Torino are in advanced negotiations to sign the midfielder, who the Hammers signed last summer from CSKA Moscow.

Vlasic struggled in his first season in the Premier League and is now expected to leave the east London club in the ongoing transfer window.

The two clubs have an agreement over a loan deal with an option to buy but for the moment there remains a significant hurdle.

According to Italian daily Corriere Granata, Torino are only prepared to pay half of Vlasic’s €4.2m salary during his loan stint.

The Italian club want the Hammers to bear half of his wages, which the Premier League side do not agree with.

West Ham are prepared to loan him out but for the moment, they do not want to pay a significant part of his salary.

Torino are scheduled to meet the representatives of the player today to further press the accelerator in the negotiations.

The midfielder is keen on the move but for the moment, there are significant disagreements between the two clubs over his wages.
