Last season the 18-year-old winger made a total of 30 appearances for Everton’s development side and netted six goals, while assisting four times.

During Everton’s pre-season tour of the United States in July, Mills played against Arsenal and Minnesota United before taking the field in friendlies against Blackpool and Dynamo Kyiv in England.

Mills, who was on the bench for the Toffees 2022/23 Premier League opener against Chelsea, signed a new three-year contract with the club.

Everton football director Thelwell revealed that the 18-year-old impressed Lampard during this summer’s involvement with the pre-season squad and is hoping that the player will continue developing under the Toffees boss this season.

“This new contract is reward for Stanley’s encouraging progress at Everton”, Thelwell told Everton’s official site.

“He took his chance to impress Frank and his staff during the summer and we are looking forward to him continuing to develop and keep pushing to be involved with the First Team this season.”

Mills will be looking forward to continuing his development at Goodison Park and will be vying to break into Lampard’s regular matchday squad.
