Blues boss Thomas Tuchel wants Aubameyang to arrive at Stamford Bridge to reinforce his attacking options following the departures of Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku.

Aubameyang is not pushing to leave Barcelona and the Catalan side would rather keep hold of him, despite their financial issues, and sanction the exit of Memphis Depay instead.

Chelsea have now tested that stance by making a verbal offer of €14m for the striker, according to Spanish outlet Relevo.

Barcelona though have been quick to knock back Chelsea’s proposal for the former Arsenal hitman, making clear their view.

It is suggested that Barcelona value Aubameyang at above €20m.

Offloading Aubameyang would reduce Barcelona’s attacking options, especially with Depay also tipped to depart the Camp Nou, to Juventus.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea now go back in with a fresh bid and whether Aubameyang is ready to cut short his Camp Nou adventure if Barcelona accept.
