Mighten played 24 times for Nottingham Forest in the Championship last season and contributed to helping the Tricky Trees achieve promotion to the Premier League.

However, in the top flight, the young winger faces a battle to be a consistent presence in the team and has played fewer than ten minutes of senior football so far this season.

Nottingham Forest have gone on a spree and added a number of signings in attacking areas, increasing competition for Mighten.

Now, Hearts have become keen on taking the youngster on loan this summer, with Jambos boss Robbie Neilson eager to add the player to his squad.

Hearts are facing a campaign with European football this season and Neilson would like the player in the door before his side take on FC Zurich in the second leg of their Europa League playoff tie later in the week.

He might not get his wish though as Nottingham Forest are not close to consenting to a loan for the winger, as distance remains in terms of wage contributions.

It remains to be seen if the two clubs are able to work out their disagreements and the young winger arrives at Tynecastle.
