Antonio Colak scored on the hour mark to give Rangers the lead in the tie and the Glasgow giants held on to it to reach the group stage of the Champions League for the first time in 12 years.

Rangers produced a dogged performance and Jon McLaughlin made a few terrific saves to keep the clean sheet.

However, it has left PSV star Veerman unhappy and while he admitted that his side should have created more, he stressed Rangers created little to nothing to get the win.

He insisted that the result is unfair and indicated that Rangers’ goal from a disastrous defensive mistake rather than them creating it.

Veerman told Dutch broadcaster RTL7: “We didn’t create enough either, that’s right but Rangers certainly didn’t, or am I wrong?

“I don’t think it’s fair, they didn’t create a single chance here.

“Yes, go ahead, they hit the bar once.

“But I dare not call that goal a chance.”

Rangers fans are unlikely to care about what Veerman thinks as they celebrated Champions League football for the first time in more than a decade.
