New centre-backs have been a priority for West Ham going into the transfer window and they have bolstered that position with Nayef Aguerd and Thilo Kehrer.

But Aguerd is currently sidelined with injury and West Ham are still on the lookout for new centre-backs, while they failed with their efforts to bring Spezia star Kiwior to the London Stadium.

And the Pole revealed that he decided to remain at the Italian side despite offers from Premier League clubs in the likes of West Ham because he is happy at his current club.

Kiwior added that he never had any doubts about continuing his stint at Spezia and stressed he never bothered about the transfer chatter surrounding him.

Asked why he decided to remain at Spezia despite offers from the Premier League clubs, including West Ham, Kiwior told Italian daily Tuttosport: “I’ve never had any doubts, I’m happy here.

“I stayed here with the aim of earning my place, playing regularly and successfully surviving.

“I don’t think about the transfer rumours.

“I’m focused on Spezia and the big match against Juventus.”

It remains to be seen whether the Irons can add yet another centre-back to their ranks this summer with the window set to slam shut on Thursday.
