Boly has yet to make an appearance for Wolves so far in the new campaign and failed to report for the squad to face Newcastle United, leaving Bruno Lage believing he is trying to force an exit.

The 31-year-old could be on the move before the transfer window slams shut and has interest.

Boly emerged as a target for the Tricky Trees after summer signing Moussa Niakhate suffered a hamstring injury that is expected to keep him out until mid-October.

Following their return to the Premier League, Nottingham Forest have made 18 signings in a bid to lengthen their stint in the top flight as much as possible.

Though an opening bid for Boly’s services was deemed insufficient, the Tricky Trees are hopeful of signing the Ivory Coast international before the transfer window closes.

Boly featured for only eleven games during the 2021/22 season under current Wolves manager Bruno Lage, also missing 12 games through injury, not including the Africa Cup of Nations.

The defender could yet be the 19th player to join the City Ground outfit this summer as Steve Cooper looks to strengthen further at the back.
