The Saints are still in the market to make further additions to Ralph Hasenhuttl’s squad and prefer young talents, with Manchester City a club they have regularly looked at for signings.
They are now attempting to raid the Etihad once again to capture former Millwall youth product Edozie.
The 19-year-old is a player that is well known to Southampton’s head of recruitment and the south coast side feel he could be a smart addition.
Southampton are working to try to push a deal for the winger over the line before the window slams shut until January.
Edozie has been on the books at Manchester City since 2020 and is now into the final 12 months of his contract with Pep Guardiola’s men.
He played for Manchester City in last year’s Community Shield, against Leicester City.
The winger has enjoyed regular game time in the Premier League 2 and the chance to switch to Southampton, with a pathway into the first team, could be attractive for him.
