The Championship club are keen to do business on deadline day and are looking to Premier League side Brighton for a signing.
They are keen on attacker Emmerson, who could be allowed to move on from Brighton to earn regular senior team football and speed his development.
Blackpool can offer Emmerson the chance to play Championship football and it could appeal to the 18-year-old.
Emmerson is highly regarded at Blackpool and has been playing for the club’s Under-21s.
He has experienced senior team football before, with two League Two appearances under his belt at Oldham Athletic.
Blackpool are in action against Huddersfield Town this weekend and Emmerson could be involved if the deal goes through.
The Seasiders went down to a 1-0 defeat at home to Blackburn Rovers earlier this week and have now not won in their last three Championship matches.
