Brighton are stepping up on their efforts to bring in a new manager after Potter decided to move to Chelsea last week.

The Seagulls did not stand in his way and pocketed a big fee from Chelsea for the 47-year-old’s move to Stamford Bridge.

Brighton are compiling a shortlist of targets and are planning to hold talks with several candidates over the next few days.

Haise is one of the names who have been linked with the job but Brighton are not looking to bring him in.

The 51-year-old Frenchman has been in charge of Lens since 2020 and was previously their reserve team coach.

His work at Lens has been praised and he has been tipped to move to a better league soon, with Brighton linked with him.

However, Haise does not feature on the list of contenders Brighton are considering at the moment.

Mainz’s Bo Svensson, Italian Roberto De Zerbi and Bodo Glimt’s Kjetil Knutsen are some of the names Brighton are looking at.
