Newcastle broke their transfer record and paid £60m to snare away Isak from Spanish side Real Sociedad in the recently closed transfer window.

The 22-year-old forward scored on his club debut for Newcastle against Liverpool in a 2-1 defeat and played his first full 90 minutes for the club in their goalless draw against Crystal Palace on 3rd September.

Enrique admitted that he loved how Eddie Howe worked throughout the transfer window to recruit good players and is certain that Newcastle’s summer signing Isak will become a top striker in the future.

The former Newcastle star is of the view that Callum Wilson is a good player but is injury prone and believes that the inclusion of Isak was important for Howe’s squad to perform well.

“Alexander Isak can become a world-class striker”, Enrique told Lord Ping.

“I love the signings that Newcastle have made in the transfer window – Eddie Howe is using the money that they have wisely.

“I love Callum Wilson but Newcastle needed another striker because he is injury prone and you can’t rely on him for the whole season.

“I think Isak would’ve been a great signing for Liverpool last summer so I’m very happy that Newcastle signed him because he can be a very important player for Newcastle.

Newcastle will take on Bournemouth on Saturday and Isak will be hoping to continue his good start in a Magpies shirt against the Cherries at the weekend.
