Dale joined Blackpool from Crewe Alexandra and made 15 appearances for the Seasiders in the Championship last season, scoring two goals while laying on an assist.

This season, the winger joined Portsmouth on a season-long loan and has established himself as a regular in Danny Cowley’s squad.

The 23-year-old winger featured in Portsmouth’s 2-0 triumph over Burton on Tuesday and laid on an assist for Bishop to score an 86th minute goal to seal the victory.

Bishop praised Dale for his excellent performance and credited the 23-year-old winger for his vision to make Portsmouth’s second goal of the game.

The Pompey striker admitted that having players like Dale in his side assures him that he will get many chances to score goals.

“Owen Dale had an excellent game and he could see me pointing for where I wanted the ball”, Bishop told The News.

“He put it in there, I got across my man and I was able to steer it in.

“Owen was electric and you know with players like that you’ll get chances.

“I’m glad I was able to take one.”

Bishop ended his three-match goal drought with the finish against Burton and the player has scored six goals in nine matches so far this season.
