The 21-year-old left-back came through the academy of Wigan Athletic and joined Sheffield Wednesday on a free transfer in January 2020 following a trial period at the club.

Last season, Galvin spent the first half of the season at National League north side Gloucester City on loan and made 19 appearances for the club.

This season, Galvin has made two senior appearances for Sheffield Wednesday and was recently allowed to go on a two-month development at National League side Maidstone United.

Maidstone United manager Hayrettin revealed that the Owls boss showed him videos of the 21-year-old and he was so impressed by the left-back’s quality that he immediately decided to sign the player.

Hayrettin further added that Galvin, who is a versatile player, is young, quick, fit and has the potential to get better.

“I played with Darren Moore at two clubs, I played with him at Torquay and at Doncaster”, Hayrettin was quoted saying by Yorkshire Live.

“We speak regularly and I spoke to him and I said what have you got and he said he had a left-back from London.

“He [Galvin] has played in the first team there, he’s played wing-back, he’s played as a third centre-back, he’s played left-back.

“He showed me the clips and I just got it done.

“Ryan’s got plenty of enthusiasm, he’s young, he’s fit, he’s quick and he’ll get better.”

Galvin will ply his trade under Hayrettin and will be hoping to impress his Sheffield Wednesday boss before he returns to Hillsborough in November.
