Motherwell dominated possession against Hearts on 18th September, enjoying the lion’s share and having as many as 25 shots.

Despite their flurry of attacking efforts, Motherwell were beaten 3-0.

Now Motherwell are in action against Celtic, but Penny is remaining upbeat about their chances.

The Ipswich Town loanee feels that there is no reason why his side cannot beat Celtic, following the performance they gave against Hearts a fortnight back.

“You say it’s a big game but we’ve just battered Hearts for 90 minutes”, Penny was quoted as saying by the Daily Record while giving his opinion on the Hearts result.

“They’re supposed to be the third-best team in this league and we’ve battered them for 90 minutes.

“It’s still early in the league, there’s still lots of games to play, and it’s a tough fixture, but I’m confident we can go there and get a result.

“With the way we played against Hearts, if we can sort those details out there’s no reason why we can’t go to Celtic and put a performance on there and put our foot down on the league.”

Motherwell have conceded ten goals in their last two meetings with Celtic, not managing to register even a single goal in reply.
