Hull sacked Shota Arveladze at the end of last month after a disastrous run of form that saw them lose six matches in a row.
As a result, Hull now sit just one point above the relegation zone and are on the lookout for a new manager to take charge of things.
One of the names considered by the Hull hierarchy was Carvalhal, who has experience in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea.
Carvalhal was sacked by United Arab Emirates club Al Wahda recently and he was even considered the frontrunner for the Hull job.
However, Carvalhal is no longer being considered for the managerial post by Hull and they have instead turned to other candidates.
Carvalhal could still return to the English game though as Wolves are claimed to be interested in appointing him.
Apart from Carvalhal, Carlos Corberan has also gone out of the running for the Hull job, despite his keenness on taking it.
