Kristensen is one of the eight new signings Leeds brought in during the last transfer window as part of the process to rebuild following the departures of Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha for big money.

The Dane has wasted little time in establishing himself as the first-choice right back at Leeds in the ongoing season.

He conceded that it is a massive change from being in Austria to playing in the Premier League but he is enjoying the challenge as it is only making him a better player.

Kristensen said on LUTV: “Yes, obviously it has been a big change from playing in the Austrian Bundesliga to playing in the best league in the world.

“Takes adaptation but I thrive on it so for me it’s making me a lot better.”

Marsch knew Kristensen from his time as Red Bull Salzburg’s coach and the player conceded that he the Leeds boss was a big draw.

He admitted that buying into the idea of moving to Leeds was made a lot easier by the presence of the American as the manager.

Talking about Marsch, the Leeds defender said: “It was obviously big.

“I mean, I knew his management style, his personality and everything so it was a lot easy to buy into the whole idea with him as the coach.”
