Aneke had not featured for the Addicks before this week with a calf problem, but got to make his first appearance of the season against Exeter City.
He came off the bench and scored on his first appearance of the season as Charlton won 4-2 and got a first victory in League One since mid-August.
Garner thinks that Charlton have missed the presence of Aneke and if he had been in the squad all the while, the Addicks would have six to eight points more to their name.
The Charlton boss thinks the impact he had against Exeter is proof of what Aneke is capable of and he is delighted to have the attacker back.
“You can see what we’ve been missing”, Garner was quoted as saying by the South London Press when asked about Aneke post-match.
“We were just saying as staff that we’d probably be six to eight points better off if he had been available.
“Coming on for 10 or 15 minutes and doing what he’s just done would make a huge difference.
“I’m really pleased to have him back.”
Six to eight points more would see Charlton enter the playoff places, but the Addicks will be hoping that Aneke can make up for his absence from here on out and help them move up the table.
