Newcastle United have named their team and substitutes to play Manchester United in the Premier League at Old Trafford this afternoon.

Eddie Howe’s side are in a rich vein of form and have scored nine goals across their last two league games, winning both.

The Magpies are dreaming about breaking into the top six this season, but they face a crunch test in the shape of Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United today.

Despite Manchester United’s struggles in recent seasons, Newcastle have not won at Old Trafford since 2013, when Yohan Cabaye grabbed the winner.

Nick Pope is in goal this afternoon, while Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Sven Botman and Dan Burn provide the back four.

In midfield, Bruno Guimaraes will look to continue his good form, while also given the vote to play are Joelinton and Sean Longstaff. Jacob Murphy and Miguel Almiron support Callum Wilson.

Howe has options on the bench to call for if needed, including Joe Willock and Chris Wood.
