The Magpies have lost only once all season long in the Premier League and are coming off the back of three wins in four games, with the draw being against bigwigs Manchester United.
Wilson made the statement after Newcastle’s latest win that there is a certain aura among the team and confidence is at an all-time high.
Howe has backed up Wilson’s words, sensing a feeling of unity internally within the group at St. James’ Park.
The Newcastle boss also pointed out that what keeps the first team regulars in the right frame of the mind is the mentality of the players who are their backups, keeping them on their toes and encouraging them to do better.
“There’s definitely a special feeling internally within the group”, Howe said in a press conference regarding Wilson’s comments.
“I have to compliment the mentality of the guys behind them trying to fight to get into the team who have provided great support to the team.”
Newcastle’s form has fans dreaming of European football next season, something which would be a big statement of progression if it comes to pass.
