Dobson was Charlton’s Player of the Year for last season, while Fraser arrived at the club in January this year, and after only appearing nine times in the previous campaign is more regular this term.

Fraser and Dobson have been the go-to midfield duo for manager Ben Garner, with them missing only one match between them combined in League One so far.

The January signing admitted that playing in a flat two in midfield is something new for him, but he is glad to play in that role for his team and is picking up things as the season goes along.

Fraser is also enjoying his partnership with Dobson, stating that the duo complement each other well and perform different roles in the middle of the park.

“I can’t think of any time where I’ve played in a flat two before this”, Fraser was quoted as saying by the South London Press.

“I’ve always been either a 10 or an eight.

“But I’ve really enjoyed it.

“I’ve even enjoyed the other side of the game, off the ball.

“I think I’m helping in that sense and I’m getting better each day in training, you learn the position more and more.

“With Dobbo, what you see is what you get.

“You’re going to watch him rat about for 90 minutes – making tackles, interceptions and winning second balls.

“We balance each other out in terms of a right-footer and a left-footer.

“I probably like to get on the ball a little bit more, he likes to do the other side.

“We just work together.”

Fraser is more of the contributor up the field from the duo, registering three goals and two assists so far in League One.
