Gas boss Joey Barton is already thinking ahead to the January transfer window and the club’s scouts are hard at work watching targets.

York defender Kouogun is a player who has caught their eye and they are keeping a close watch on his displays in the National League.

The Minstermen are looking to push for promotion to the EFL, but Kouogun may not want to wait.

It is claimed that he is keen to test himself in the EFL and is looking to step up, something which would boost Bristol Rovers’ chances of landing him.

He has shone for York so far this term, clocking 14 appearances in the National League in the current campaign.

Kouogun, 25, has been sent off once this term, something which ruled him out of a 1-1 draw against Scunthorpe United.

It remains to be seen if Bristol Rovers act upon their interest in the defender when the January transfer window swings open for business.
