After promising wins against Manchester City and West Ham United, Liverpool fell to defeat at the hands of at-the-time bottom team Nottingham Forest on Saturday, a result scarcely expected.

Liverpool started with a midfield that included Fabio Carvalho, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott, none of them above 21 years of age, benching Jordan Henderson and moreover their starting line-up did not include Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Keys thinks Klopp is the culprit for Liverpool’s failure against Nottingham Forest, finding fault with the manager’s team selection.

The veteran anchor thinks leaving out Henderson and Alexander-Arnold was a faulty decision and is sure the former needs to start more.

“Klopp cost Liverpool at Forest”, Keys wrote on his blog.

“His team selection was all wrong.

“I know they’ve got injury problems and losing Thiago so late was a real blow, but you can’t then leave out Henderson and Alexander-Arnold.

“He had babies in midfield and they weren’t good enough.

“They tell me that Henderson needs to be ‘managed’ these days.

“Maybe he does, but he’s only started eight games this season.

“Surely he’s got more in his tank yet?”

Liverpool have been impacted by injury all-season long and for the game against Nottingham Forest, aside from missing Thiago, were also without striker Darwin Nunez.

They face another relegation zone-dwelling and out-of-form team in Leeds United next and Liverpool will be hoping this time they can get the win.
