This weekend’s loss to Fulham saw Leeds plunge to new depths, their fourth successive defeat in a row leaving them in the relegation zone.

It does not get easier for Marsch and Leeds either as their next three games before the World Cup are against bigwigs Liverpool, a Bournemouth team that are jubilant under Gary O’Neil and top four contenders Tottenham Hotspur.

Keys does not feel that Marsch will survive the week at Leeds but thinks there is a saving grace for the American.

The veteran anchor thinks that the Leeds owners might leave Marsch to face the storm in the form of Leeds’ three upcoming matches, to have the person replacing him not be handed such a tough start to his spell.

“I’d be surprised if Jesse Marsh makes it through the week”, Keys wrote on his blog.

“The only thing that will save him now is a sequence of games that sees Leeds go to Anfield and Spurs – with Bournemouth in between.

“The owners might feel it’s better to get those games out of the way and leave the new man – whoever that is – with an easier start after the World Cup.”

Leeds are claimed to still be backing Marsch and keeping faith in his project at Elland Road.
