Rangers dropped more points at the weekend when they only managed a 1-1 draw against St. Mirren away from home.

The draw left them nine points behind Celtic in the league table and they now have a mountain to climb after the World Cup.

Rangers fans have been calling for the head of Van Bronckhorst with suggestions that the club are considering lining up replacements.

But a decision has not been made and Ferguson admitted that he does not think the Rangers board know whether they would like to back Van Bronckhorst a bit more or sack him and bring in a replacement.

He conceded that given the number of points Rangers have dropped in the last few weeks, the Dutchman knows that it is not good enough at a club of their size.

Asked what the Rangers board will do, the former Gers captain said on the Go Radio Football Show: “I’ll be honest with you, I don’t know.

“I don’t think they know if I am being honest.

“You know what it is like at a big club, it’s all about winning.

“Gio has obviously dropped seven points in the last few league games, which at Rangers is not good enough.”

Rangers are reportedly interested in QPR boss Michael Beale as a potential replacement for Van Bronckhorst.
