The Rams are eighth in League One and advanced to the third round of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win over Newport County on Sunday.

Next, Warne’s Derby County will shift their focus back to the league and will host third-place Sheffield Wednesday on 3rd December.

The Derby boss admitted that the game against Darren Moore’s side will be a big one, but stressed that his side have big game players.

Warne is of the view that the Owls will come to Pride Park with their aim on three-points and revealed that the way the visitors will approach the match will suit his side down to the ground.

The Rams manager also stated that he relishes the opportunity to get involved in big games such as the one on Saturday.

When asked about the big game feeling regarding Saturday’s game, Warne told Rams TV: “Yes, well, we have got big game players, so I think the bigger the game, the better.

“I think you know Sheffield Wednesday will come to our place wanting to win, obviously, and that will suit us.

“I think it will be an absolute blow for blow game.

“That is what I am expecting, and these are the sorts of games I want to get involved in.”

Derby are unbeaten in their previous 13 fixtures at Pride Park against Sheffield Wednesday and the last time both teams met it ended in a 3-3 draw in May 2021.
