Kuol is set to join Newcastle at the beginning of the January window, with an agreement having already been closed with his club, Australian side Central Coast Mariners.

In the meantime, Kuol was part of the Australia squad that exited the ongoing World Cup in the round of 16 earlier this month.

Kuol made two substitute appearances there, including one against Argentina in the round of 16 when his effort could have levelled the tie late for the Socceroos were it not for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

Newcastle have not wavered from their resolve to send Kuol out on loan in January though, even after his World Cup displays.

There are already a number of clubs interested in signing the Australian star on loan, both within England and abroad.

Newcastle have received enquiries from several clubs about the teenager and Portugal along with Germany are touted as possible destinations.

The Magpies have yet to take a decision on where he goes and in the meantime Kuol is still with Central Coast Mariners.
