Arfield was the hero for Rangers on Tuesday night when he scored two injury-time goals to help them win a dramatic game at Aberdeen 3-2.
Rangers looked down and out at the end of 90 minutes, but the midfielder came to the rescue and got the goals that helped them to get the much-needed three points at Pittodrie.
Grant feels Arfield is probably the best finisher of chances Rangers have in their squad and he needs to play more often as the Gers need players who can run into the box from midfield and provide more attacking options.
He stressed that Arfield was making those runs even before the goals and was rewarded for his industry at the end.
Grant said on the Go Radio Football Show: “Scott Arfield is probably the best finisher at the football club.
“He plays in an area of the pitch, which I find surprising he doesn’t play more often because when you play with one striker you need more people to get in the box and go beyond the ball.
“Before the goals, he made a few runs and hadn’t been seen.
“He did it fantastically well and got his just rewards with those two goals.”
Rangers will be travelling to Victoria Park on Friday night to take on Ross County in the Scottish Premiership.
