Mudryk’s future at Shakhtar this month has been under the scanner due to interest from two big Premier League clubs.

He has been Arsenal’s top target but the Gunners have already failed with two bids for him and for the moment do not want to meet Shakhtar’s €100m asking price.

The north London club also do not want to get drawn into a bidding war with Chelsea who are also hoping to sign Mudryk.

Arsenal are relatively confident that the player wants to join them but it has been claimed that Chelsea want similar assurances.

Injuries to Christian Pulisic and Raheem Sterling have accelerated Chelsea’s need to bring in another winger in the ongoing window.

They like Mudryk and are scheduled to hold formal talks with the Ukrainian giants this week.

But Chelsea want to be sure that the 21-year-old wants to join them over Arsenal before tabling formal offers.

The Blues want to avoid a situation similar to last summer when they agreed on a deal with Leeds United for Raphinha only for the Brazilian to hold out for a move to Barcelona.
