Giakoumakis is likely to move on from Celtic before the transfer window closes this month as he looks for regular game time.

The Greek goal-getter has impressed when given the opportunity at Celtic, but Bhoys boss Ange Postecoglou has continued to prefer to deploy him from the bench in recent games.

Giakoumakis is open to departing Celtic and a host of clubs are alive to the prospect of adding a proven goalscorer to the ranks.

Sampdoria, who have struggled in front of goal this season, are trying to convince the 28-year-old to move to Serie A and aid their battle against relegation.

From Japan, Urawa Red Diamonds are keen to introduce Giakouamkis to the J League.

There is also interest from clubs in the Bundesliga, the MLS and Russia, as a scramble takes place for the striker’s signature.

We understand that Giakoumakis could make a decision on where he wants to go this week.

The Greece international came off the bench in Celtic’s 2-0 win over Kilmarnock at the weekend.

He went on a goal run when handed starts by Postecoglou earlier this season, striking four times in three league games in October.
