Ounahi was in fine form in the recent World Cup with Qatar and is attracting serious attention in this month’s transfer window.
He could be on the move from French side Angers and Napoli are interested in taking him to Italy, either this month or in the summer.
However, according to Rai Sport journalist Ciro Venerato, Leeds are leading Napoli in the chase for Ounahi.
It is claimed Leeds are willing to pay Angers a fee of €25m for the Moroccan and are offering him a salary of €2.5m.
Napoli’s salary proposal is €1.5m, €1m lower than that on the table from Leeds.
Leeds recently let Mateusz Klich depart the club and could be in the market to bring in a replacement.
Ounahi joined Angers from lower league side Avranches in 2021 and he quickly established himself in the side, making 32 Ligue 1 appearances last term.
