Liverpool have invested in the squad this winter and signed Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven even before the January window opened.

However, many believe Liverpool are in dire need of a midfielder or two given their struggles this season, combined with a failure to sign midfielders in recent years, and the fans have been urging them to get things done.

But Liverpool’s top targets are not expected to be available in January and Klopp played down any suggestions of any new players arriving in the next couple of weeks.

He stressed the importance of him getting the best out of his current squad and insisted that he cannot solve the problems through new signings in the transfer window.

Asked about any imminent transfer moves, the Liverpool boss said in a press conference: “I don’t think so.

“My job is to use the boys we have. Absolutely no problem.

“You cannot solve all problems in the transfer window.”

Liverpool are seventh in the league table, seven points behind Manchester United, who are fourth in the standings.
