Trossard’s relationship with Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi has broken down since he left the training pitch last week without saying a word.

His agent recently claimed that his client is no longer on speaking terms with the Italian and the Belgian was not even in the squad in Brighton’s 3-0 win over Liverpool at the weekend.

The winger wants to move on from the club this month and Tottenham are interested in taking him to north London.

Spurs also tabled a verbal offer worth £12m for Trossard but Brighton were quick to knock back the bid.

Tottenham are still interested but they have not followed up since Brighton’s rejection of their verbal bid.

The Seagulls are yet to decide whether to cut loose a player who has fallen out with the manager.

However, De Zerbi suggested that the door is still open for Trossard to return to the team if he is prepared to toe the line inside the dressing room.
