Moffi has been turning heads with his performances in Ligue 1 for Lorient and is the division’s second highest scorer.
Lorient are coming under pressure from several sides to sell him, including Ligue 1 rivals Nice, while Southampton and West Ham are keen.
The Hammers have put in an offer of around £25m for Moffi, which has not been accepted by Lorient, but it appears the main obstacle is the player.
Moffi is not sure whether to sign for West Ham, who are struggling in the Premier League.
West Ham sit inside the relegation zone in the Premier League and boss David Moyes is at risk of being sacked.
Moyes, who is also trying to sign Danny Ings from Aston Villa on a permanent deal, locks horns with former club Everton at the London Stadium this weekend.
Everton are another club interested in Ings and had a recent loan approach for him turned down by Aston Villa.
