Spurs signed Spence last summer following a dogged pursuit, but his chances under Antonio Conte in north London have been limited.

Pedro Porro is also expected to soon arrive at Tottenham from Sporting Lisbon, something which would knock Spence even further down the pecking order.

Tottenham are claimed to be ready to sanction a loan move for Spence and it has been suggested that their Premier League rivals Brentford want him.

However, such talk is wide of the mark and Brentford are not trying to sign Spence.

The defender could well leave Tottenham before the window closes, but Brentford will not be his destination.

Brentford, who sit eighth in the Premier League table, are just six points behind Spurs with a game in hand.

They recently played out a 2-2 draw with Tottenham in the Premier League and Spurs may not be keen on strengthening them.
