The Toffees have just announced the appointment of Sean Dyche as the club’s new boss and are keen to now back him.

Time is running out in the transfer window, but Dyche wants to see his Everton squad strengthening and the club have made a move for Gallagher.

They have sent a bid to Chelsea of £40m plus a further £5m in add-ons for the highly rated midfielder.

It has been suggested that Chelsea could let Gallagher move on this month and he has been linked with Newcastle, who are looking to loan a midfielder.

Now Everton are testing Chelsea’s resolve on Gallagher and want to take him to Goodison Park permanently.

It is unclear if the midfielder is prepared to make the switch to a side battling for survival in the Premier League.

Chelsea are suggested to be set to make a decision on Gallagher soon, while the player will also have a decision to make.
