Zaniolo is keen to leave Roma this month, but no side apart from Bournemouth have been able to agree a deal and the winger did not consider the Cherries to be a viable destination.

Leeds asked about Zaniolo earlier this month, but the track to Elland Road appeared to have gone cold.

Now though, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Leeds have opened talks with Roma in an attempt to sign Zaniolo.

The Yorkshire giants are looking at a deadline-beating move to bring Zaniolo to Elland Road.

Roma are ready to accept a bid for the winger this month, but it remains to be seen if Zaniolo is tempted by the idea of joining Leeds.

Giallorossi coach Jose Mourinho has predicted that Zaniolo will not leave the club this month, now though Leeds are offering an escape route.

Leeds are doing late business with Roma as centre-back Diego Llorente is joining the Italian giants on loan.
