The 23-year-old midfielder’s future has come under the scanner due to interest from clubs in the Premier League this month.

Unai Emery remains an admirer of the player he coached at Arsenal and Aston Villa have made a financially lucrative offer to the Frenchman to move to the Midlands.

However, Aston Villa have not tabled an offer with Marseille for Guendouzi with little over a day left in the transfer window.

And according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Marseille have now closed the door on selling the player before the end of the window on Tuesday.

The French giants were open to letting him go earlier in the window but with very little time left, Marseille are no longer intend to sell him.

However, things could change if Aston Villa still manage to make a big offer in the final hours of the transfer window.

Marseille are aware that Guendouzi is likely to move on from the club eventually at the end of the season.

But for the moment, the club are now pushing to keep him beyond Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
