The two Premier League clubs are looking to bring in a midfielder before the window closes tonight for very different reasons.

Chelsea have been pushing to land Enzo Fernandez but are struggling to work out a deal with Benfica and are now looking at alternatives.

Manchester United have been forced into the market in the final hours of the window due to Christian Eriksen’s long-term injury.

And according to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland, they are both in contact with Bayern Munich for Sabitzer.

The Austrian has been a bit part player at Bayern Munich this season and has made just seven appearances in the Bundesliga.

Manchester United are exploring signing him on loan until the end of the season as a temporary solution.

It is unclear whether Chelsea are considering a loan or a permanent deal for Sabitzer today.

But both clubs are exploring the possibility of taking him to the Premier League before tonight’s deadline.

Bayern Munich are open to letting him go and are in talks with Chelsea and Manchester United to find a solution.
