The 24-year-old is likely to see his game time limited at Highbury after the arrivals of Jack Marriott and Jayden Stockley this month.

He has no lack of suitors though with as many as five clubs showing interest in taking him away.

Besides Motherwell and Grimsby Town, Tranmere Rovers, Hartlepool United and Barrow are also keen on the forward.

However, it is the Scottish side that are pushing to sign the player as they look to strengthen their attack following an injury to Mikael Mandron.

The Steelmen signed the 28-year-old from Gillingham only this month but the striker has picked up an injury in training and is set to be sidelined.

Motherwell had been linked with Dundee United’s Tony Watt but that move seems to have fallen through with the player now set to join St Mirren.

Garner has featured in 18 games overall for Fleetwood finding the back of the net three times.
