The Tricky Trees have been inflicted with an injury to No.1 choice goalkeeper Dean Henderson and are on the lookout for a replacement.

Nottingham Forest had settled on Navas to fill the gap left by Henderson’s injury and things seemed to be moving well for the move to happen.

However, on deadline day the move screeched to a halt as there was disagreement over the wage structure with Paris Saint-Germain.

Nottingham Forest are now attempting an eleventh-hour effort to make the move happen again and bring Navas to the City Ground.

The clubs are negotiating over the wages, which was the issue for the original deal not being successful.

Navas is still in France but Nottingham Forest are optimistic a deal can be agreed with the French champions.

The Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper is a three-time Champions League winner and Nottingham Forest will be hopeful they can complete all formalities before the deadline if terms are agreed.
