Cornick spent the last five-and-a-half years with Luton Town and helped them to earn back-to-back promotions from League Two to the Championship.

The 27-year-old centre forward made 235 appearances for Luton Town and now has signed a three-and-and-a-half year deal with Bristol City.

Bristol City are in 17th place in the league table and Cornick declared his desire to lift the Robins up in the Championship table while bringing the fans out of their seats with his game.

The forward stated that everyone at the club has a very high ambition and stressed that he has signed a long term deal to help Bristol City progress to the Premier League where the club belong.

“I hope to bring a bit of enjoyment and fun”, Cornick told Bristol City’s official site.

“I want to get the fans out of their seats, score a few goals and take this club to where it should be – much higher up the table and hopefully I can help with that, get off to a good start.

“I’ve spoken to the gaffer and the people around the place, and everyone has got high ambition, drive and determination to get this club to where I believe it should be and that’s in the Premier League.

“I’ve signed a long deal to try and do that and see how fast we can progress as a club.”

Nigel Pearson’s side will take on eleventh placed Preston North End at the weekend and Cornick will be eager to get into the starting line-up for that game.
